Miami-Dade leaders and community members will unite at Homestead City Hall on Sunday, February 25, to call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Palestine.

HOMESTEAD, FL — Cubanos Pa'lante and the Florida Palestine Network united at Homestead City Hall at 3:00 PM EST on Sunday, February 25, to issue a call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Palestine. This joint effort by a coalition of Miami-Dade leaders and community members aimed to shine a spotlight on the ongoing crisis, urging an immediate ceasefire to the continued bombardment of Gaza and demanding accountability for the deaths of thousands of Palestinians.

The rally represented a unified stance against escalating violence and sought to foster community solidarity in advocating for justice for the Palestinian people. Organizers emphasized the importance of recognizing the long-standing plight of the Palestinian people, dating back to the 1948 Nakba, and the urgency of taking a stand as concerned global citizens.

"We are gathered here not just as members of different organizations but as concerned global citizens. The situation in Palestine is not just a regional issue but a humanitarian crisis that calls for immediate global attention and action."
— Jose Barrientos, Rally Organizer
"Our aim is to educate our community about the historical and ongoing struggles faced by Palestinians and to challenge the narratives that perpetuate this crisis. As Cuban Americans who know what it means to fight for dignity and self-determination, we stand in solidarity."
— Mike Rivero, Co-Founder & Chair, Cubanos Pa'lante
